About the role
Castings Tasmania is seeking a Safety & Compliance Specialist to join our team in our Launceston office. This full-time position will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations within the manufacturing industry.
What you'll be doing
* Developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety and compliance frameworks.
* Assisting with the management of our ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO Environment), ISO Safety), Management systems & Standards
* Prepare correspondence, submissions, and reports while assisting with regulatory liaison, including WorkSafe, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE)
* Conducting regular audits and reviews to monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
* Identifying and addressing any non-compliance issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
* Maintaining comprehensive documentation and reporting on compliance and quality performance.
* Staying up to date with industry and legislative changes.
* Providing guidance and training to employees on regulatory and compliance matters
What we're looking for
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
* Significant experience in a safety and compliance role within the manufacturing industry
* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Proficiency in using safety management software and data analysis tools
