About the Role
Dragonfly Cafe is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our growing kitchen team. This role reports directly to the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager and plays a vital role in the day-to-day food preparation and kitchen operations.
The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining consistent food quality, efficient kitchen workflow, and compliance with food safety standards. This position adds value to the business by supporting service delivery during busy trading periods and ensuring customers receive high-quality meals that meet Dragonfly Cafe's standards.

Working Hours
Ordinary hours of work are 38 hours per week, rostered across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Preparing, cooking, and plating menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
● Assisting with menu preparation and daily kitchen operations under the direction of the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
● Ensuring food quality, portion control, and consistency during service periods.
● Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with Food Safety regulations.
● Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control.
● Minimizing food waste through efficient preparation and proper storage practices.
● Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
● Assisting with receiving and checking deliveries to ensure quality and freshness of ingredients.
● Complying with workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
● Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
● Assisting with the preparation of food to accommodate special dietary requirements and allergies, under supervision.
Minimum Requirements [Please amend accordingly]
● At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment.
● Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
● Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
● Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
● Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
● Must be able to communicate well in English.
● Applicant must agree to random drug testing.
