Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and that the kitchen is maintained in a safe and clean manner.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a keen eye for detail. They will be able to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the production of food to all areas of the hotel
* Approve all prepared food items that leave the kitchen
* Maintain the highest culinary standards in the kitchen
* Ensure that all foods are stored and prepared in a safe and hygienic manner
* Prepare and cook food on sections as required
* Delegate duties to chefs of a lower grade
* Liaise with chefs regarding restaurant and banquet functions
* Liaise with the F & B Manager and outlet Supervisors to ensure a smooth running operation
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to lead and motivate a team of chefs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor during peak periods
