About This Role
This position leads the professional, operational, and clinical management of Social Workers within inpatient Mental Health services.
* Coordinates and provides accessible, equitable, and evidence-based Social Work services
* Delivers direct clinical care to consumers and their families
The role ensures high quality Social Work services are provided by providing expert advice and working with other MH service managers to enhance service standards and quality across the district.
A clinical caseload will be managed as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and at least 3 years fulltime equivalent experience in inpatient services and/or mental health
2. Demonstrated professional and operational leadership experience, including demonstrated understanding and experience of service provision in complex health settings
3. Demonstrated high level clinical and advanced practice skills in social work assessment and intervention and expertise in clinical leadership and clinical supervision
4. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and policy/practice guideline development
5. Proven ability to work autonomously with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands, monitor performance, problem solve and utilise independent professional judgement
6. Demonstrated high level communication skills (oral and written) including advocacy and negotiation skills
7. Demonstrated organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
8. Current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
