About The Role
The IT team is responsible for providing excellent end‐user experiences and services for our staff. They deliver prompt technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems to minimise disruptions. The team also manages system maintenance, internal applications and drives overall organisational productivity. The ITcheme must work closely with Engineering and Security teams to delight our Engineers while keeping a high level of security.
This role will be a key position within the DroneShield Information Technology team. Primary responsibilities include owning and improving existing technology and processes to scale efficiencies with the high growth of the company. The candidate will easily create programmatic automations and must be versed in several disciplines ranging from M365, End‐User Computing, Networking, Internal Application hosting and Cloud infrastructure. The candidate should have experience with either programming or advanced scripting and an interest in leveraging large language models (LLM) to make the team more effective.
Responsibilities, Duties And Expectations
* Contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of IT infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives.
* Support innovation through research, vendor engagement, and pilot programmes.
* Analyse support ticket trends and collaborate on scalable, proactive solutions to reduce recurring issues.
* Implement and build IT hardware, cloud, internal core services and software solutions for end users and enterprise systems.
* Involve in networking architecture and operations.
* Drive continual improvement and automation to reduce reactive and repetitive tasks.
* Provide technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert across various IT domains.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams outwealu align IT solutions with business needs.
* Mentor team members.
* Work on architecting global solutions for the growing company and set standards for IT across the DroneShield Group in Australia and internationally.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 7 years' experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement within IT environments.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment.
* In‐depth expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure and the જે broader Microsoft ecosystem.
* High proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages for automation and system management.
* Experience working with and managing Windows, macOS and preferably Linux environments.
* Solid understanding of networking concepts including firewalls, VPNs, routers/switches, DNS לחץ DHCP and spanning tree.
* Hands‐on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
* Proficient with endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM and JAMF, and identity platforms like Azure Entra ID.
* Experience administering the Atlassian suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
* Familiarity with system monitoring tools and user support processes, with a focus on customer success.
