Overview
We are seeking a strong Data Tech Lead who can drive end-to-end solution design with a background in Spark SQL, AWS, and ETL. This is not a purely hands-off manager role; the successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who helps guide and uplift teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 2–3 data engineers, set them up for success, and be accountable for their deliverables.
- Work hands-on (AWS, ETL, SQL, Python) in a team of 30, alongside an engineering manager and a product owner to drive a major automation project and new initiatives.
- Lead solution design workshops and actively uplift the team in design and delivery.
Qualifications
- Solid experience with Spark SQL, AWS cloud, and ETL depth.
- Experience with Talend is preferred; experience with SSIS or Informatica is also acceptable.
- Extensive Big Data & AWS cloud experience with hands-on development in Spark SQL.
- Leadership experience capable of leading a small team and delivering on commitments.
- Ability to work onsite in Sydney 3 days per week.
