Responsibilities
This year, we're excited to open our second Brisbane property, another important step in growing our national footprint. Located just minutes from Brisbane Airport in the heart of the surrounding industrial and logistics precinct, the hotel sits alongside the Brisbane River and close to the Port of Brisbane, a major hub for freight, shipping and large national operators.
As the only modern, purpose-built accommodation in the area, the hotel has been designed with corporate and long-stay guests in mind. Opening in two stages, it will offer a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with conference space, a gym and secure parking, giving guests the space, comfort and convenience they genuinely need.
As Hotel Manager, you'll guide the hotel through its most important phases: pre-opening, ramp-up, stabilisation, and the path to profitability. In the lead-up to opening, you'll work within the Veriu Group framework to establish the team, structure, suppliers, and operational processes required for a seamless launch. You'll spend significant time on-site ensuring pre-opening tasks and timelines are met, while collaborating closely with our Development team and key stakeholders. Just as importantly, you'll be driving business development, building strong relationships and reputation with corporate partners to position the hotel for long-term success.
Once open, your focus will shift to establishing and stabilising the business, embedding efficient operations while growing the hotel's presence within the local community and corporate markets. About You
We work in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same, so we're looking for people who are adaptable, enjoy variety and operate with an ownership mindset.
The successful person must have:
Approved Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a Visa with approved working rights)
Be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate and Liquor Licence (at Veriu expense)
Demonstrated experience developing and leading a high performing team team
Expertise in problem solving and influencing business performance
High standards of attention to detail and communication (written & verbal)
Passion for personal growth and pushing business performance limits
High emotional intelligence
