The Reality of the Role
You'll be the person keeping Broome's backyards and resorts looking like an oasis while the rest of the town is melting. It's physically demanding, it's outside, and it's constant.
* The Heat is Real: You'll be working through the Build-up and the Wet. If you're the type to tap out when it hits 38°C with 90% humidity, this won't work.
* Problem Solving over Paperwork: Every pool has a personality. One day it's a fried pump, the next it's a chemical imbalance after a massive downpour. You need to be able to look at a system, figure out why its gone green and fix it.
* The Broome Grind: We prioritize locals because we need people who are actually here for the long haul—not just passing through for a season. You know the roads, you know the tides, and you know how to talk to people in town.
What You'll Be Doing
* Chemistry & Water Quality: Testing and balancing water so it's safe and sparkling (even after a tropical storm).
* Mechanical Repairs: Troubleshooting pumps, filters, and chlorinators. If it's leaking or grinding, you're the one to fix it.
* Manual Labor: Scooping leaves, vacuuming floors, and carrying bags of salt.
* Customer Service: Chatting with homeowners and resort managers. You're the face of the business.
What You Need to Bring
* Resilience: You don't just tolerate the heat; you're used to it.
* A "Can-Do" Brain: You don't wait for a manual. You see a problem, you find a solution.
* Reliability: You show up when you say you will. In a small town, your reputation is everything.
* Drivers License: Essential for getting the ute from Cable Beach to Roebuck Estate.
* Local Knowledge: You live here, you love it here, and you plan on staying here.
