Overview
We are looking for an experienced Storage & Backup Specialist to take ownership of our enterprise storage, backup, and recovery environments across multiple datacenters. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our data platforms are highly available, resilient, and consistently meeting performance and recovery targets.
Responsibilities
* Hands-on management of storage and backup environments across multiple datacenters, including NetApp (7-Mode and Cluster Mode), HPE StoreVirtual, Dell PowerFlex, ScaleIO, NetApp StorageGRID, and Veritas backup and archiving platforms.
* Maintain and monitor storage systems, manage replication across sites, administer object-storage platforms, and oversee storage virtualization. This includes managing logical resource groups, protection domains, storage pools, and encryption at rest.
* Ensure the reliability of backup and SaaS protection services by operating and optimizing Veritas NetBackup and Veritas Alta for SharePoint and M365.
* Support archiving platforms like Veritas Enterprise Vault and AXS-One, and contribute to secure data lifecycle management practices.
* Perform performance and capacity management by regularly assessing system health using tools such as NetApp ActiveIQ and PowerFlex Management to ensure environments meet defined performance benchmarks.
* Uphold governance and compliance standards by maintaining connectivity across Brocade fibre-channel switching and coordinating offsite tape vaulting.
* Drive automation and continuous improvement by reducing manual effort in deployments and configuration updates. Play an active role in executing platform changes and releases, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating across teams to develop solutions or workarounds for major incidents. All work follows ITIL-aligned processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management, with up-to-date documentation.
Qualifications
* Experience with enterprise storage and backup technologies including NetApp (7-Mode and Cluster Mode), HPE StoreVirtual, Dell PowerFlex, ScaleIO, NetApp StorageGRID, Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Alta, Veritas Enterprise Vault, and AXS-One.
* Familiarity with object-storage management, storage virtualization, replication, and encryption at rest.
* Experience with performance and capacity management tools such as NetApp ActiveIQ and PowerFlex Management.
* Understanding of governance and compliance requirements, and experience with Brocade fibre-channel switching and offsite tape vaulting.
* Experience delivering ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes and maintaining accurate documentation.
