This Aboriginal medical service stands at the forefront of Aboriginal health advocacy in the breathtaking Kimberley region of Western Australia. Since its inception in 1986, it has championed a unified voice for Aboriginal health and wellness, empowering communities through culturally appropriate health services.
As a proud member organisation representing eight independent Aboriginal groups, its vision is clear: to foster strong, healthy, and connected Aboriginal communities through holistic, community-controlled health services. The service caters to a diverse array of health needs, delivering programs that are as unique as the communities it serves.
The Requirements
* Medical registration to practice in Australia
* At least 5 years of experience in general practice or primary health care
* Emergency management training, particularly in remote settings
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal communities
* A valid “C” class driver’s licence and capability to drive a 4WD vehicle
* 24/7 on‑call required
* 4 weeks on‑site in the Kutjunga region
The Package
* $317,177 total remuneration
* Availability allowance 25 % of base salary (when in Kutjunga)
* $300 per day for any on‑call when in another location
* Annual airfares subsidy to the value of $1,285 per annum (after 12 months of service)
* Salary packaging up to $30,000 per annum
* 8 weeks support in other clinics
* When assisting across the broader clinic network, support may be provided onsite in another remote community or via telehealth from Broome, another community, or your home anywhere in Australia
* Receive $300/day allowance when rostered first on‑call (25 % availability allowance does not apply during this phase)
* 6 weeks annual leave per annum, pro rata
