Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to lead major water, sewerage and waste infrastructure projects that will support communities for decades to come. This role goes beyond project delivery – it's an opportunity to influence how essential infrastructure is planned, delivered and improved across one of Queensland's fastest‐growing regional areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead major infrastructure projects that directly improve the livability, sustainability and future growth of the region.
* Plan and deliver high‐impact capital works programs, influencing strategy rather than just day‐to‐day operations.
* Drive smarter delivery, continuous improvement and best‐practice project outcomes across the Water & Waste Services Group.
* Mentor engineers and project teams, shaping a high‐performing delivery culture.
Qualifications & Experience
* Significant experience delivering major infrastructure or capital works projects.
* Strong commercial, contract and risk management capability.
* Confidence to engage with stakeholders and influence outcomes.
* Collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Engineering qualifications with RPEQ status (or ability to obtain).
* Local government or utilities experience welcomed but not essential.
