It is a maternity relief role, which may end early if the permanent employee returns from leave, with a two-week notice. The contract can last up to 12 months, with possible extension for an additional 12 months for maternity leave coverage. No permanency is guaranteed.
Position Overview
Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a Grade 3 Pharmacist – General Medicine Specialist for a temporary full-time role. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to clinical pharmacy services within General Medicine, ICU, and Critical Care, providing advanced support to inpatients and outpatients with a focus on safe, patient-centered medication management.
The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams, offering expert guidance, leading quality initiatives, supporting service improvements, and mentoring staff within the department.
Candidate Requirements
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Pharmacist.
* Unencumbered driver's license (please upload a copy).
* Extensive experience and high competence in clinical pharmacy services relevant to General Medicine, ICU, and critical care.
* Leadership ability and skills in building professional, patient-centered relationships, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
* Ability to develop guidelines, procedures, and educational materials.
* Strong reasoning, problem-solving, time management, and workload prioritization skills.
* Active participation in professional development and continuous improvement.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet department objectives.
Work Environment
You will primarily work at Wyong Hospital within the Central Coast Local Health District, providing specialised pharmacy services and training across medical specialties. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams ensures high-quality patient care.
