About the Role
WorkPac are seeking a Analytical Chemist on behalf of our client, you will manage and maintain critical laboratory instruments while supporting the daily operations of a busy research lab. Working alongside experienced scientists, you'll further develop your analytical skills, gain troubleshooting experience, and may also contribute to project-based research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain key analytical instruments (ion chromatography, carbon analyser, potentiometric titrator)
* Monitor instrument performance using QA tools such as control charts and logbooks
* Troubleshoot equipment and assist in resolving performance or data issues
* Support laboratory safety and implement process improvements
* Manage spare parts and consumables
* Perform general laboratory and facilities upkeep
* Assist with proficiency testing activities (e.g., sample splitting)
* Contribute to supervised technical projects as capacity allows
Skills and Experience Required:
* Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field
* 2–3 years' experience in an analytical laboratory
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of QA/QC processes and statistical analysis
* Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and Excel (including macros)
* Valid C Class Licence
