About the Research Streams

We invite applications for multiple positions to join our teams working on projects that span core AI research and interdisciplinary collaborations through the ANU Integrated AI Network.

Three key research streams are available:

1. Bayesian Machine Learning – Led by Dr Thang Bui, this project focuses on sequential decision-making and bridging deep learning theory and practice.
2. Interpretable Machine Learning for Natural Language – Led by Prof Lexing Xie, this stream applies machine learning to climate, health, and environmental challenges.
3. Computational Analysis of Online Economies – Led by Prof Lexing Xie and Dr Yun Kuen Cheung, this research explores digital markets and social platforms using ML, game theory, and computational economics.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must have a strong background in machine learning, AI, or a related field. A cover letter outlining research experience, objectives, and perceived fit to one of the positions is required.
