As we continue our rapid expansion in the industry, an exciting opportunity has emerged within our Southeast Queensland operations for a Technical Services Specialist. Be part of our thriving team and make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry!
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver best practice blast engineering solutions and support to mining and quarrying blasting operations and technical projects across all customers.
2. Ensure professional technical services are always provided in the field, as demonstrated by feedback from Shotfirers and customers.
3. Provide innovative engineering support to achieve all desired customer design objectives.
4. Provide written engineering support to tenders and proposals to win new work.
5. Achieve desired fragmentation and engineered vibration results when using electronic initiation system.
6. Develop and implement quality documents such as Mining and Quarry Management Plans, Blasting Methodologies, and Blasting Management Plans that could be sold as part of the service.
7. Demonstrated competence in the use of survey techniques (face profiling, bore tracking, drill GPS integration).
8. Demonstrated ability to undertake vibration and air overpressure monitoring, signature hole analysis and associated blast design and reporting.
9. Manage, identify and report opportunities for blasting result improvement by monitoring, editing, and archiving all blasting videos submitted by shotfirers.
10. Manage, prepare and present analytical data to customers demonstrating current cost parameters and identify opportunities for improvement.
11. Manage the expansion of selected technical services skills by training and mentoring designated senior shot firers to be competent users of equipment in the field.
The successful applicant will have:
1. Technical consultancy experience in blast design, technical support and MHF Operations.
2. Possession of a tertiary education in a Mining related degree or equivalent.
3. Qualified Shot firer license.
4. 5+ years experience in a similar role in the mining and/or quarrying industry.
5. Ability to obtain national police check clearance and possess a current Australian Open Class Manual Drivers License.
