Lead WSLHD’s casual admin pool – oversee rostering, recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning to deliver compliant, reliable coverage.





Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Position Classification: Health Manager Level 1
Remuneration: $87,813.00 - $116,824.00 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38
Primary Location: Westmead Hospital

What you'll be doing
You’ll provide day‑to‑day leadership and operational oversight of the centralised Administrative Casual Pool, ensuring a responsive, flexible and efficient workforce is available to meet service demand across the District.


* Allocate resources and manage daily rostering to maintain fair, timely coverage

* Lead and support a Team Leader (Relief Ward Clerks) and casual staff to drive performance and customer service

* Coordinate recruitment, selection, induction and onboarding in line with NSW Health policies

* Maintain accurate records, validate timesheets and support budget control and workforce utilisation reporting

* Monitor demand trends and implement workforce solutions that ensure continuity, consistency and compliance

* Demonstrated experience in coordinating workforce operations or administrative staffing services within a complex, multi-site organisation, preferably within a health or public sector environment.

* Proven ability to lead, supervise, and support a team, including providing clear direction, performance management, and promoting a positive, customer-focused culture.

* High-level organisational, problem-solving, and workload management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage operational challenges effectively.

* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and communicate workforce matters clearly and professionally.

* Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply industrial Awards, human resources policies, and workforce management procedures relevant to administrative staffing

* Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing operational processes, including rostering, recruitment and administrative systems within a staffing or workforce environment.

* Demonstrated skills in the use of workforce management systems, HR databases, rostering applications, and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).

* Knowledge of or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire knowledge of NSW Health recruitment, human resources, and performance management policies and practices.
