The Role: Project Development Manager - Renewable Energy Projects
We are seeking an experienced Project Development Manager to join our Australian team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project development and be able to create a plan of action which will consider a fixed timeline and evaluate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify high quality sites of scale for new renewable energy projects.
* Build strong partnerships with landowners and corporate landholders to unlock additional sites and help increase community investment.
* Manage landholder relationships and negotiation of landowner agreements.
* Review and negotiate all contracts applicable to the project with a focus on pre-construction including PPA, environmental contracts, grid connection plus all other important elements of the project.
* Confidently liaise with lawyers regarding contract matters and reviews/amendments applicable.
* Manage project development activities to achieve development and grid connection approval until financial close of the project.
* Working with communities and stakeholders to ensure development success and excellence in community engagement.
* Manage project meetings with the allocated project team across different business units.
* Acting as the key contact for internal departments including Engineering & Construction, Legal and Finance.
* Actively engage with key project stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities and AEMO.
Requirements:
* 3 years plus experience in a Project Development Manager role within the renewable energy industry in Australia.
* Essential is an experienced Project Developer who has demonstrated experience in contract negotiation skills; a background in contract administration will be favoured highly.
* A deep and thorough understanding of contracts with a high attention to detail across all aspects of a project.
* Project management experience including managing budgets and timelines.
* Experience of leading projects into the construction phase.
* An ability to multi-task and step into other duties of the project as required.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Tertiary qualified with Bachelor's degree qualification in Engineering, Planning, Environment, or other relevant field.
