News Corp Australia’s leading mastheads are looking for a visionary leader to join us as Director, Premium Content Distribution — a critical role in shaping the future of our State & Community (S&C) mastheads. This position is central to ensuring our premium journalism reaches the largest possible audiences while accelerating the growth of our direct audience channels.

News Corp Australia’s leading mastheads are looking for a visionary leader to join us as Director, Premium Content Distribution — a critical role in shaping the future of our State & Community (S&C) mastheads. This position is central to ensuring our premium journalism reaches the largest possible audiences while accelerating the growth of our direct audience channels.

Working closely with newsroom leaders responsible for Tier 1 content—spanning Health, Education, Business, Food, and national series—you’ll lead the strategy and execution of content distribution across all platforms. From boosting direct traffic and improving recirculation to driving SEO innovation and elevating our newsletter strategy in the era of generative AI, you’ll be setting the agenda for sustainable audience and subscription growth.

About The Role


* The ideal candidate can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Adelaide.
* Lead the distribution of high-impact Tier 1 content across all S&C mastheads to maximise audience reach and engagement
* Drive strategies to increase direct traffic and improve recirculation, with a goal of growing direct audiences from 50% in FY25 to 80% by FY28
* Champion SEO excellence, ensuring content is discoverable across search and generative AI platforms, and provide practical newsroom playbooks
* Oversee the development and performance of newsletters, identifying opportunities to expand and enhance subscriber and non-subscriber offerings
* Collaborate closely with masthead editors, audience teams, and product stakeholders to enhance content discovery, presentation, and platform efficiencies
* Manage a small, expert team focused on content optimisation across on- and off-platform channels
* Partner with marketing, sales, and national newsrooms to deliver integrated, data-led audience growth strategies
* Promote innovation and a test-and-learn culture to adopt emerging tools and trends that drive subscription and engagement growth

* A collaborator who works closely with the Digital & Audience Lead in each masthead to implement best practices in audience engagement, including personalisation, A/B testing, and community building.
* An innovative thinker who identifies and implements approaches to content amplification and subscription growth
