Mobile Plant Operator:
Location: Biofarms Tasmania Agricultural Sites (NW Coast Region)
Employment Type: Fulltime/Permanent $70,000 per year
Working Patterns: Monday to Friday (38 hour week- subject to operational needs - some weekend and afterhours work maybe be required.)
About the Role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic mobile plant operator to operate tractors and related agricultural equipment in performing land maintenance, cultivation, and transport tasks. You’ll play a vital part in helping Biofarms Tasmania meet ground preparation, growing and harvesting goals in a safe and efficient manner.
What you'll be doing:
Safely operating tractors and other farm machinery to perform tasks such as ground preparation, planting, inter-rowing, harvesting, spraying including operating specialised equipment such as Culti'track tool carrier and facilitating irrigation activities.
Performing daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance (e.g., oil checks, tyre pressure) on machinery as per the Safe Work Procedures.
Identifying and reporting any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or hazards.
Performing routine servicing, minor repairs and maintenance checks on machinery and equipment
Following site plans and supervisor instructions to meet required timelines.
Transporting machinery and equipment between farm locations, adhering to all road safety regulations.
Assisting with other general farm duties as required.
Adhering to organic farming standards and guidelines.
Other farm tasks as directed
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience operating tractors and other farm machinery.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on public roads.
- Knowledge of road safety and regulations applicable to farm equipment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to health and safety regulations in the workplace.
