We support newly graduated Midwives in order for them to consolidate their midwifery training across all areas of maternity including antenatal, birth suite, and postnatal. We provide Professional Development Days including practical skills sessions that are focused on new graduate learning needs. The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is the major referral hospital in Northern Tasmania. As a Registered Midwife, you will be part of the team that delivers approximately 1,600 newborn babies each year. With a 6-bed Labour Ward, 30-bed Maternity Unit, and 9-bed Special Care Unit, your work will be fast-paced and very rewarding.The role:The Registered Midwife:Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate midwifery care in partnership with women, their families, and other health professionals.Details of appointment:Fixed term full-time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 12 July 2025 for a period of 6 months. Note: hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$78,179 to $105,995 per annum.
