Base salary starting at $156,103 – $179,998 plus 17% superannuation.

SoMS delivers teaching in programmes such as Science, Medical Science, and professional degrees including the Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Dental Medicine. Teaching also spans majors such as Anatomy and Histology, Immunology, Neuroscience and Physiology.
We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to make significant contributions to teaching and learning practice, design and evaluation, while continuing to build research contributions within gastrointestinal or respiratory physiology.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain a reputation for academic excellence through independent and innovative contributions to research and education, expanding knowledge and practice in the discipline.
* Establish collaborations and partnerships to enhance the research profile and reputation of the university.
* Coordinate and engage in high‐quality teaching and learning experiences, including supervising higher degree research students to successful completion.
* Coordinate, develop and continually improve curricula, programmes and resources to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
* Coordinate activities of academic staff and provide training and mentorship to less experienced staff.
* Provide leadership that has a significant impact on teaching, innovation, curriculum development, research training and supervision.
* Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
* Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate for the classification level as required.
About you
* Doctorate or PhD and professional qualifications in physiology (or equivalent).
* Significant experience in teaching and learning, with a focus on gastrointestinal and/or respiratory physiology (or a closely related area), with a demonstrated capacity to teach and drive curriculum development of these topics for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
* Experience in education design and practice.
* Significant experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity relevant to the field, including success in securing research funding.
* Experience supervising and mentoring others, including honours and/or PhD students.
* Have, or be building, an established network of academic, industry and/or professional partners and stakeholders.
* Have a national reputation as influential in expanding knowledge, pedagogical innovation, or curriculum development.
* Skills in research, critical thinking and decision making, planning and organisation, and delivering presentations effectively.
* Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse cohort of students and staff.
* Excellent collegiality across teaching and research.
