Rosterfy Employee Value Proposition
The Role
We're looking for a Technical Writer to join our product team part-time (3 days per week or flexible) on a 12-month contract as a parent leave cover.
In this role, you'll own our external documentation, shape how we communicate product updates to customers, and lead the organization of our knowledge bases - both internal and customer-facing.
This is a cross-functional role sitting in product but working closely with our global teams in content, customer success, support, and engineering. You'll translate complex features into clear, helpful documentation while establishing better knowledge management practices across the company.
What You'll Do
* Write and publish release notes for product updates, translating technical changes into customer-friendly communication
* Update existing documentation based on platform changes, ensuring accuracy and relevance
* Prioritise documentation work based on customer impact, identifying which articles or gaps will deliver the most value
* Maintain and improve our external knowledge base, ensuring customers can self-serve effectively
* Organize and structure both internal and customer-facing knowledge bases, implementing better taxonomy, search, and discoverability
* Establish and improve documentation workflows, content governance, and best practices across teams
* Measure documentation effectiveness and communicate progress to stakeholders
* Write and refine platform copy to improve the user experience within the product
* Collaborate with product managers, engineers, support, and content teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency
* Work with support to identify documentation gaps based on customer questions
What We're Looking For
* 4+ years experience as a technical writer, ideally in B2B SaaS
* Strong knowledge operations experience - you've organized or restructured knowledge bases before
* Ability to take complex technical concepts and make them accessible
* Experience prioritizing documentation work based on impact and customer needs
* Experience establishing documentation workflows or content governance processes
* Comfortable measuring and reporting on documentation metrics
* Self-directed and organized - you can manage your own workload across multiple stakeholders
* Clear, concise writing style with attention to detail
Nice to Have
* Experience with knowledge base platforms (Intercom, Confluence, etc.)
* Experience with AI-tools to automate knowledge operations and workflows
* Familiarity with UX writing or platform copy
* Background working with enterprise SaaS products
* Experience implementing information architecture or taxonomy systems
