What and how you will work:
This is a national role and can be performed from anywhere in Australia. The majority of the development team are located in Adelaide, so some travel will be required if not located in Adelaide.
Job Description
As the Quality Engineering Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our commitment to excellence, ensuring the highest standards of quality across all software products. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing cutting-edge quality strategies, managing critical processes, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver exceptional technology solutions. Your leadership will drive innovation, enhance performance, and ensure compliance, all while fostering a positive risk culture and aligning your team with the organisation's ambitious goals. Your impact will be felt across the entire organisation, making this role essential to our success.
In the role you will
* Develop and implement advanced quality engineering strategies to ensure top-tier software quality.
* Oversee and refine quality processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including vendors and delivery partners, to deliver superior technology solutions.
* Lead the creation and validation of sophisticated test methods and procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the quality engineering domain.
* Transition to Agile ways of working, increase quality and reduce software release timeframes through automation
* Manage and report on performance, setting and achieving objectives for internal teams and external partners.
* Support the delivery of reliable IT systems, including Core Banking, Online Banking, and Lending systems.
* Foster a positive risk culture and ensure adherence to risk management practices.
* Promote data-driven decision-making and align your team with organizational goals.
* Inspire and motivate your team, embodying leadership commitments and driving business sustainability and growth.
Qualifications
About you
You will need strong leadership and communication skills, along with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders effectively. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to balance various priorities and make strategic decisions. Additionally, experience in managing complex projects and teams will be essential for success in this role.
You will have:
* 10 + years’ experience in quality engineering and/or software development
* 10+ years’ experience managing third party or managed services providers
* 10 + years’ experience in banking and financial services and/or software account management
* Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, ITIL, DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile, QA Automation tools and experience in risk management and regulatory compliance.
* Demonstrated quality engineering experience
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyse cost vs risk trade-offs.
* Excellent stakeholder influence and communication skills.
* Demonstrated strength in people leadership and people development capability
