Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Solutions Consultant to support the sales and adoption of our Australian workforce management and payroll platform. This role is designed for professionals who understand payroll operations and HRIS systems and are comfortable demonstrating how payroll and workforce technology can simplify compliance, automate pay calculations, and improve operational efficiency. You will work with prospective customers typically employing 50–500 staff, guiding them through the evaluation process, demonstrating the platform, and helping them transition from legacy payroll systems. This is a commission-only contractor role, suited to experienced payroll consultants, HRIS implementation specialists, or former payroll software professionals who are confident presenting solutions and closing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

* Customer Discovery
o Engage with prospective customers to understand payroll processes, workforce complexity, and compliance requirements
o Identify pain points in current payroll or workforce systems
o Translate operational requirements into a platform solution
* Product Demonstration
o Deliver structured demonstrations of the payroll and workforce platform
o Explain payroll calculations, awards, overtime, leave accruals, and compliance workflows
o Show how time capture, rostering, and payroll automation reduce manual processes
* Solution Design
o Recommend configuration approaches for customer payroll environments
o Outline the onboarding and migration process
o Provide assurance around payroll accuracy and implementation steps
* Sales Support and Closing
o Work with the sales team to progress opportunities through the evaluation stage
o Address technical and operational questions during the buying process
o Support proposal and pricing discussions where required
* Implementation Handover
o Clearly communicate customer requirements to the implementation team
o Assist with ensuring the proposed configuration aligns with customer expectations

Ideal Background

We are seeking candidates with experience in payroll operations, payroll software implementation, or HRIS consulting, including:

* Payroll Implementation Consultant
* Payroll Systems Specialist
* HRIS Implementation Consultant
* Workforce Management Consultant
* Payroll Bureau Consultant

Experience with Australian payroll platforms such as Employment Hero, KeyPay, ADP, Dayforce, Deputy, or similar systems is highly regarded.

Required Knowledge

* Award interpretation and pay rule configuration
* Leave accruals and entitlements
* STP reporting requirements
* Payroll categories and deductions
* Payroll compliance considerations

Skills and Attributes

* Strong ability to explain payroll concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Commission Structure

This role is commission-based and suited to experienced professionals who prefer flexible consulting arrangements. Typical earnings are structured around:

* Commission on new customer subscriptions (percentage of first-year revenue)
* Optional commission on implementation services where applicable
