Become a Cherished Friend: Volunteer for a Senior Lady who loves Crafts and Conversations.
We are looking for a warm-hearted volunteer to spend an hour every fortnight with a delightful senior lady in an aged care home in Toowoomba.
She enjoys sewing, knitting, reading, and sharing stories about her family.
If you have a passion for crafts and making connections, join us in bringing joy to her day.
By sharing one hour per fortnight you can make a difference.
Friendship visits help an older person feel more valued, connected and improve their quality of life by:
Creating a sense of belonging
Having fun together and increasing social connections
Enhancing overall health and mental wellbeing
Supporting participation and connection with the local community
Activities you could enjoy together:
Cooking a favourite meal or exploring recipes
Going for an outing in the community
Playing games such as board games, chess and cards
Arts and crafts
Simply enjoying a cuppa and chat
All it takes is a one-hour commitment per fortnight to truly make a difference.
