Position Information

Budgewoi Public School is a large primary school on the northern end of the Central Coast. Budgewoi is in a picturesque location, surrounded by Lake Munmorah, Budgewoi Lake and the Pacific Ocean.

Our school's 5-year enrolment average is 550 students with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander population of 23%. Students from non-English speaking backgrounds account for 4% of enrolments.

Budgewoi Public School has a Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 133 which ensures it receives funding to overcome any socio-economic disadvantage students may experience. The school is committed to working in genuine partnership and collaboration with the community. The two main consultative bodies the school connects with are the highly active Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) Muru Bulbi.

Our school has a proud tradition of excellence in a range of extra-curricular activities, particularly sport, dance, public speaking, debating and choir.

We are committed to explicit teaching practices that provide students with the clarity, confidence, and skills they need to succeed. We hold high expectations for all learners, ensuring every child is challenged, supported, and celebrated throughout their learning journey. A strong emphasis in enhancing opportunities to create an inclusive school culture is a priority at Budgewoi Public School.

We are extremely proud of our passionate and dedicated staff, as well as the strong partnerships we share with our families, which together form the foundation for student success.

During the 2026 planning cycle, Budgewoi Public School will rigorously pursue the goals and outcomes outlined within the NSW DoE Plan for Public Education. This will include a focus on explicit teaching, student wellbeing, equity and High-Performance Gifted Education.

Specific Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to work as a dynamic member of the school leadership team striving for whole school improvement through collaborative leadership with proven strong interpersonal and communication skills to sensitively and actively engage with a range of stakeholders.

* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities within a special education setting, demonstrating a strong commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and growth.
* Demonstrated capacity to lead and embed high-quality, culturally responsive educational practices that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, particularly those with disability and complex learning needs.
