Overview
We are looking for an experienced senior operations leader with a track record in complex service delivery, workforce development, and stakeholder engagement, who brings a genuine appreciation for Indigenous culture and remote community life.
About the Role
Provide high‐level advice, guidance, and leave relief to Council Services Managers across five remote communities to ensure continuous, effective service delivery.
Lead, coach, and develop teams to achieve high performance, build workforce capability, and support succession planning.
Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, contract compliance, and asset management – including the Aquatic Centre portfolio.
Build strong relationships with community members, internal teams, government representatives, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven people leadership: performance management, coaching, mentoring, and developing teams in a busy, hands‐on operational role.
* Experience delivering services or managing operations in remote or cross‐cultural communities.
* Strong skills in strategic planning, budgeting, contract management, and overseeing assets and facilities.
* A confident communicator who builds positive relationships with communities, CSMs, and stakeholders.
* A genuine appreciation for Indigenous culture and the ability to work respectfully and effectively within remote Aboriginal communities.
* An organised, safety‐focused operator who can juggle competing priorities, solve problems, and keep services running smoothly.
* Tertiary qualifications in management, business, or a related field – or equivalent senior management experience.
* Senior leadership experience in service delivery, operations, or facilities management.
* Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and remote community life.
* Knowledge of WH&S legislation and compliance requirements.
