Electrical Project Manager
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of technicians, overseeing electrical projects from conception to completion. This involves developing budgets, coordinating with mechanical teams and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
This leadership role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of overhaul and repair scopes.
The successful candidate will commission, diagnose and continuously improve electrical systems on mining equipment in line with AS/NZS 3800 standards.
1. Develop accurate costings and budgets for all electrical scopes and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
2. Schedule projects in conjunction with mechanical rebuild scopes and ensure seamless integration with other project teams.
3. Manage a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to company policies and procedures.
4. Champion a safety-first culture across the organization, upholding a safe and healthy workplace environment and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
About this Role
* 5+ years experience working with mining equipment and a proven track record of managing electrical projects.
* Strong knowledge of mining equipment and machinery, including their maintenance, diagnostics and repair processes.
* Hands-on experience with equipment safety standards, compliance management and environmental regulations specific to the mining and heavy machinery sectors.
* Experience troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and repairs of electrical components in mining equipment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with team members, clients and stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements for Success
* Electrical trade qualification and tertiary qualifications in business management or electrical engineering.
* 5+ years experience working in the underground coal sector.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
