Are you a compassionate and experienced mental health professional with a passion for supporting older adults? Our Older Persons Team is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join us on a fixed-term contract, where you'll play a central role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
About the Older Persons Team
We provide clinical case management for:
Adults 65+ years Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults 55+ years
Our clients present with mental illness or mental health disorders that complicate underlying medical conditions. We work collaboratively to ensure safe, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse, you will use your advanced clinical skills to provide assessment, coordination, and ongoing management for older adults with complex mental health needs. You will contribute to multidisciplinary planning, offer clinical leadership, and support best-practice outcomes for consumers and their carers.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must hold or be willing to complete the following mandatory competencies:
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Manual and patient handling training
* Infection control, including hand hygiene
* Mandatory reporting of reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
* Occupational Violence Prevention Training, including de-escalation, situational awareness, and personal safety
* Medication management, including knowledge of QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations, November 2012
* Understanding of Aged Care Act responsibilities and elder abuse prevention and reporting
* Additional Requirements (as directed by our HHS)
* The successful candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required:
* Integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) training
* Online induction training
* Any other training deemed necessary by the Health and Hospital Service
