About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Management Accountant to join our leadership team at our Narangba headquarters. This is a critical, centralised role within MAS Group, responsible for leading and managing the entire accounting function across all our diverse entities. You will be instrumental in driving financial performance, providing insightful analysis, and guiding the Group's ambitious growth trajectory.
Reporting directly to the Group General Manager, this pivotal position offers the opportunity to shape our financial landscape and contribute directly to strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the end-to-end accounting function for the entire MAS Group.
* Oversee and ensure accurate recording, reconciliation, and elimination of all intercompany transactions and balances.
* Design, implement, and maintain a robust chart of accounts for complete financial transparency across all business units.
* Develop and implement comprehensive annual budgets and robust 3-way financial forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
* Proactively manage and forecast group cash flows, aligning financial strategy with operational needs.
* Conduct in-depth variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to drive performance.
* Leverage M&A experience to support financial due diligence, modelling, and integration of acquired entities.
* Develop advanced business models for new strategic initiatives.
* Design and deliver insightful financial and operational reports and dynamic dashboards.
* Manage and mentor our Bookkeeper, fostering their professional development.
* Act as the primary liaison with external accountants for tax and audit requirements.
* Provide strategic financial oversight to the HR and IT functions.
* Collaborate extensively with all departmental heads to ensure financial processes align with operational goals.
* Manage company BAS requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification is essential.
* Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in management accounting, with significant experience in a multi-entity group structure.
* Advanced financial modelling skills, including 3-way financial statements and scenario planning.
* Highly proficient in Xero accounting software; experience with integrated job costing/ERP systems is highly desirable.
* Proven experience in financial due diligence and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience with finance staff.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
