Tax Senior

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Liverpool. You'll work closely with experienced managers and partners, managing your own portfolio and contributing to a broad range of compliance and advisory work.
The Role
As Tax Senior, you'll be responsible for overseeing tax compliance for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll also assist with advisory projects, helping clients make informed business and personal tax decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
* Managing your own client portfolio and acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day queries
* Supporting senior team members with tax planning and advisory projects, including remuneration planning, inheritance tax, and business structuring
* Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
* Reviewing junior team members' work and providing mentoring and support
* Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and applying this effectively in client work
* Identifying opportunities to add value and improve processes within the department
About You
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented tax professional who thrives on client interaction and technical variety.
You will:
* Be ATT or CTA qualified (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience.
* Have previous experience in a practice-based tax role.
* Possess solid knowledge of both personal and corporate tax compliance.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in building relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Be well organised and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
* Be motivated, professional, and eager to develop your technical and advisory expertise.
Experience with cloud-based tax and accounting software would be an advantage.
