Job Role:
This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides support to young people in the Townsville region with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use issues. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments that cater to each individual's unique needs.
* We provide 'One-At-A-Time supports' for those who only need a few sessions with a clinician to work on current stressors or concerns.
* Moderate intensity medium-term individual and group therapy for those who need a few more sessions to work on specific concerns such as anxiety, depression or other mental health difficulties.
* A dedicated suicide prevention program (You Are Not Alone – YANA) providing time-limited high intensity interventions for young people experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
* A dedicated trauma program ('Tern' program) offering recovery focused long-term high intensity interventions for young people who have experienced multiple traumas throughout their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide vocational services to young people with mental health difficulties.
* Offer career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to young people with mental illness up to the age of 25.
* Work in tandem with the clinical team to ensure young people can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.
