SUMMARY: Responsible for dispatching Officers to calls, distribution of information, logging of events, and the operation of non-gaming surveillance equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)
* Operates dispatch and surveillance equipment.
o Coordinates response to calls and emergency situations.
o Facilitates the flow of information by attending daily shift pass downs.
o Ensures proper notifications are made in regard to emergency situations, or as directed.
o Enters accurate data into computer-aided dispatching systems (CAD).
o Develops reports from information gathered from various reporting systems.
o Conducts video reviews and investigates incidents.
o Maintains a working knowledge of departmental policy and procedures.
o Assists Public Safety Officers as directed.
o Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements
* Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills required.
* Ability to type 30 words per minute.
* Must be computer literate and familiar with various computer applications.
* Ability to learn new computer software.
* Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Must be able to read electronic display panels on devices such as radios, cellular telephones, alarm systems, public address systems, etc.
* Must be familiar with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing the Casino.
* Must be familiar with Public Safety Department Policies and Procedures and have passed the training program within the introductory period.
* Must be knowledgeable of Public Safety Officer duties.
* Must be able to keep up with fast-paced atmosphere and work under pressure.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, understand and retain information communicated via radio, email, telephone, or in person.
* Must be able to communicate using fixed or portable 2-way radios, land line, or cellular telephone.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
* Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
* Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
* Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
Physical Demands
* Must be able to lift and push/pull at least 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
* Must have visual acuity of 20/20 with corrective lenses.
* Must be physically able to perform all job requirements including intricate manipulation of controls, walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
Work Environment
* May be required to wear protective equipment such as mask, earplugs, gloves, eyewear, weather gear, etc.
* Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
* Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
* Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
* Required to work around moving machinery with possible exposure to vibration, dust, gas, steam or chemicals.
* Potential exposure to hostile situations.
* Required to walk on uneven ground.
* Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.
