AustCorp Executive is working in partnership with a leading consultancy in the energy sector, specialising in project management and executing complex projects internationally.
The role of Senior Power Systems Engineer involves delivering high-quality power systems studies for projects, collaborating with developers, investors, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
The Role
1. Deliver comprehensive power systems studies, including load flow, fault levels, network impact studies, system strength analyses, and grid connections compliance.
2. Provide expert project management and support across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and stakeholder satisfaction.
3. Offer strategic guidance on regulations, technical solutions, and business opportunities to address complex challenges in power systems and energy.
4. Develop external networks and establish relationships with clients to identify new business opportunities.
5. Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineers across the discipline, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Requirements and Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
3. Demonstrated expertise in power system modelling, with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as SKM PTW, ETap, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, etc.
4. Strong project management capabilities, experience with energy systems and technologies, and effective stakeholder negotiations skills.
5. Experience working with NSPs, familiarity with the National Electricity Rules (NER), and knowledge of AEMO connections and GPS studies are highly advantageous.
