We are seeking two new independent members to join our Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC). ARIC reviews and provides independent advice on managing risk, internal controls, and effective Council functioning.
About the Role
* Taking a professional approach, committing time and effort, and participating in mandatory training are essential responsibilities.
* Understanding the business, culture, and values of the organization is crucial. Knowing changes affecting operations and risks is also vital.
* Having sufficient knowledge of financial reporting responsibilities is necessary for contributing to the committee's consideration of annual financial reports.
Requirements
* The ability to read and understand financial statements and capacity to understand ethical requirements of government, including potential conflicts of interest, are must-haves.
* Functional knowledge in areas like risk management, performance management, human resources management, internal auditing, financial reporting, accounting, management control frameworks, governance, or business operations is required.
* Able to form independent judgments and willing to constructively challenge management practices and information.
