Position Summary
The Reporting & Business Intelligence (BI) Business Partner is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Next Gen's reporting and analytics infrastructure.
The role focuses on Power BI & other reporting platforms development, SQL data modelling, and system integration to ensure that all business units have access to reliable, automated, and visually compelling data insights.
Responsibilities
Power BI Development
* Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for executives, club managers, and functional leads.
* Develop data models, measures (DAX), and relationships to support efficient, scalable reporting.
* Manage dashboard deployment, refresh scheduling, and access permissions through Power BI Service.
* Create consistent visuals and themes aligned with Next Gen brand standards.
Data Engineering / SQL
* Develop and maintain SQL databases, queries, and stored procedures feeding the BI environment.
* Optimise data extraction and transformation processes (ETL/ELT).
* Work with IT to design robust data pipelines connecting ERP (Wiise/Business Central), MRM, Payroll/HR(Employment Hero), and other systems.
* Troubleshoot data discrepancies and ensure end-to-end integrity.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
Essential
* Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI Service administration.
* Strong SQL capability (query design, stored procedures, data modelling).
* Experience developing ETL pipelines (manual or automated) connecting multiple business systems.
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable data models and visual dashboards.
* Understanding of relational databases, star/snowflake schema design, and data normalisation.
* Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and commitment to data accuracy.
Desirable
* Familiarity with Microsoft Wiise / Business Central, Employment Hero or similar SaaS platforms.
* Experience with Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, or Synapse.
* Exposure to Python or R for data manipulation.
* Understanding of financial or operational KPIs in multi-site service businesses.
