The Centre of Aboriginal Health is seeking a highly motivated Senior Policy Officer to lead strategic and operational projects and policies aimed to contribute towards transformation and reform of key NSW and National areas including the National Closing the Gap partnership work with the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of NSW.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for leading
* Coordination, development, and evaluation of best practice policies, projects, and activities that contribute towards transforming Aboriginal Health outcomes in line with the Closing the Gap National Agreement and key NSW and National policy areas
* The position will work closely with key Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, government agencies and relevant key stakeholders with the support of the Associate Director
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
* Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in the area of Aboriginal social, political and cultural issues and applying such knowledge to the design and delivery of Aboriginal Health policies, programs and/or strategies.
* Knowledge and understanding of the key priority areas for action including partnerships and shared decision-making, the unique role of the Aboriginal community-controlled sector and the application of the concepts of cultural safety and Indigenous data sovereignty and governance.
* Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with community and government partners
* Substantial experience in developing, analysing and evaluating Aboriginal health operational and/or strategic policies and projects in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-agency environment.
* Experience in the NSW Health system with a focus on strategic frameworks and mechanisms designed to improve Aboriginal health outcomes
