We’re supporting a federal government agency to onboard multiple finance professionals into a high-performing finance team.
This opportunity suits accountants or near-qualified accountants seeking contract work in a complex Commonwealth environment.
The role
You will support core financial accounting activities, including:
* End-of-month and end-of-year financial processes
* General ledger reconciliations and journals
* Financial reporting and variance analysis
* Budget support and compliance with PGPA and Finance rules
* Preparation of working papers and audit support
* Providing advice to internal stakeholders
What we’re looking for
* Degree-qualified in Accounting
* CA or CPA qualified or near completion
* Experience in financial accounting (public sector experience advantageous)
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills
* Ability to work onsite in Canberra
* Current NV1 security clearance (mandatory)
Contract rates
* APS6 equivalent: approx. $75–$85 per hour + super
* EL1 equivalent: approx. $90–$105 per hour + super
(Rates dependent on experience and role alignment.)
