Achieve Something Great
Step into a senior role where your social work expertise directly strengthens families, supports vulnerable children, and helps shape safer, more connected communities across South Western Sydney.
As a Senior Social Worker within the Family Connect and Support program, you'll play a key role in providing specialist assessment, early intervention, and coordinated support to families experiencing complex challenges. You'll bring clinical insight and a strong commitment to evidence based practice, while working collaboratively with external partners to ensure families receive the right support at the right time. This is a meaningful opportunity to influence service quality and contribute to a program that strengthens family wellbeing, enhances child safety, and empowers caregivers to build sustainable, long term change.
The Family Connect and Support role is part of an established partnership between South Western Sydney Local Health District and Uniting, providing early care and intervention for families across the District. The position is hybrid across Uniting and SWSLHD, offering a unique opportunity for professional development, shared learning, and insight into the inner workings of both Health and Uniting.
In This Role, You Can
* Make a real impact by supporting families early, preventing escalation, and improving long term wellbeing.
* Lead with purpose, offering clinical guidance, supervision, and mentorship.
* Work holistically, partnering with schools, community organisations, health services, and government agencies to create seamless pathways for families.
* Grow your expertise through professional development, quality improvement, and involvement in innovative service initiatives.
* Be part of a values driven team committed to collaboration, respect, empowerment, and delivering high quality, person centred care.
Are You the Right Fit?
You'll thrive in this role if you're a compassionate, skilled, and confident clinician who brings both heart and expertise to supporting families facing complex challenges. You stay grounded in fast paced environments, communicate with clarity and warmth, and use your professional judgement to guide families toward safer, stronger futures. As a senior practitioner, you'll also play a key role in mentoring others, shaping practice, and contributing to a culture of high quality, family centred care.
* Bring strong clinical experience from a child protection or health social work background.
* Deliver advanced, strengths based assessment and support to families with diverse and complex needs.
* Lead with confidence, offering supervision, guidance, and professional support to colleagues.
* Communicate with impact, using excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and advocacy skills to engage families and collaborate with partnering services.
* Think critically and act decisively, applying sound judgement and problem solving skills in dynamic or challenging situations.
* Champion quality and improvement, contributing to service planning, evaluation, and evidence based practice that enhances outcomes for children and families.
