Responsibilities
* Provide an excellent standard of evidence based clinical care to public and private patients
* Work in partnership with Medical Officers, Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and treatment in a coordinated and timely manner
* Provide Occupational therapy intervention to a wide variety of patients in acute care including surgical, medical, critical care, emergency, and neurology
* Liaise and coordinate with referrers, staff, relatives, and outside agencies to support independent living and safe discharge planning
* Communicate the interpretation of assessments and implications for patient management, via verbal and/or written reports
* Participate in quality improvement projects and in-service programs as required
Selection Criteria
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Current registration with AHPRA
* Excellent clinical practice skills in assessment, intervention and discharge planning from an acute setting
* Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
* Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
* Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice
