Commercial Manager - Integrated Facilities Management
About the Role
Our IFM client is seeking an experienced commercial manager to support a long-term government contract within the government and justice business. The commercial manager will work closely with the project teams, investigating to make solid recommendations based on commercial, financial, and legal positions, including diving into the detail and providing practical guidance.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will see you provide expert commercial expertise to support and guide the delivery team.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, including the client, project director, project teams, and support functions.
* Lead resolution of commercial claims and disputes.
* Maintain knowledge of the head contract.
* Advise on commercial and contract risk management.
* Collaborate with procurement and legal teams on contracting and legal reviews.
* Lead review of contract changes.
* Identify under-performing areas and develop improvement plans.
* Provide commercial leadership during project mobilisations.
* Review and improve project control systems and procedures.
* Implement risk and opportunity management strategies.
* Develop and implement best practices and drive innovation.
* Manage project health checks and ensure timely closure of actions.
* Develop commercial capabilities within the contract.
* Work independently, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Utilize Microsoft Office, project control systems, SAP, and Power BI.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Legal, Business, Accounting, or Commerce.
* 5+ years managing long-term O&M contracts.
* Understanding of contract and construction law.
* Experience managing multi-million-dollar contracts/projects.
* Strong client engagement and negotiation skills.
* Proven success in delivering commercial outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills, able to clarify complex contracts.
