Position Purpose
The Fund Administration Team is a customer‐focused team servicing Asset Owners and Asset Managers.
Asset Owners consist of Life Insurance Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Superannuation Funds. Asset Managers manage Trusts and Managed Funds.
The teams are responsible for the generation of accurate client service, including unit pricing, fund accounting, reporting and tax administrative services. They have extensive interaction and dealings with various managers and teams within the Operations Division, including Fund Administration colleagues, Investment Administration teams, Custody Operations and other internal BNP Paribas Securities Services teams such as the Risk Control & Finance function and Client Service Management.
All services delivered by this team must consider current legislative and regulatory requirements, comply with operational risk guidelines, and investigate, manage and resolve any client queries and issues directed to the team. The team also supports the ongoing fulfilment of service delivery to clients through representation alongside the Relationship Management function.
Fund Accountant Role
The Fund Accountant plays an important role in supporting the service delivery of the Fund Administration team. The Fund Accountant will be assigned to specific clients – either Asset Managers or Asset Owners – and will be responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and year‐end deliverables for those clients.
Key responsibilities include regulatory reporting, statutory reporting, unit pricing reports, accounting reports, tax reports, and resolution of client or inter‐departmental issues and ad‐hoc queries. All reports generated must meet policy, legislative, and service‐level agreement (SLA) standards.
Qualifications: ability to calculate and produce BAS/GST, distributions, taxable income computations and tax returns on behalf of clients; strong numeracy, analytical ability, proactive problem‐solving, and effective time management.
Responsibilities
Fund Accountants may have direct client contact as they are responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of client reports in accordance with SLAs. Deliverables include unit pricing, month‐end report packs, distribution calculations, taxable income calculations and BAS/GST once reports have been verified as correct.
They also maintain substantial inter‐departmental contact, investigate and assist with ad‐hoc queries, meet operational risk and compliance requirements, and maintain relevant compliance records. They contribute to building and sustaining client relationships by supporting the efforts of Account Managers, Client Services Managers and the broader team.
The role requires a service ethic, quality focus, strong interpersonal ability, and a willingness to pursue technical development through ongoing study or industry participation.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required
Technical
* 2–4+ years' experience in fund accounting, unit pricing and tax services.
* Technical accounting ability, knowledge of fund accounting, reporting and related operational risk and compliance requirements.
* Systems experience: Hi‐Portfolio, PControl unit pricing system, MS Word & Excel.

Experience and Qualifications Required
Between 2–4 years' experience in fund accounting, unit pricing, and an understanding of the full service model of master custody. Awareness of financial market securities, fund products, and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercial solutions in problem‐solving.

Demonstrated quality focus, timely MIS and client reporting, and adherence to legislative requirements, operational risk, and compliance policies.
Ability to communicate effectively, work inter‐departmentally, question or escalate issues, resolve queries, maintain compliance standards, and support team members' technical growth.
