What you'll do Provide quality input into the preparation of Annual Statutory Financial Statements, to ensure completeness and accuracy of information and compliance with statutory requirements, through preparation of detailed movement schedules, reconciliations, and other notes' workpapers that support the Annual Financial Statements as required.
Assist with the quality assurance review of the annual Statutory Financial Statements, to ensure completeness and accuracy of information and compliance with statutory requirements.
This includes Australian Accounting Standards, Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements, and other relevant legislation.
Assist in providing quality input into activities undertaken with the Queensland Audit Office during the external audit of the Statutory Financial Statements Ability to contribute to the development of, and work through, various variance analysis workpapers.
Maintenance and ongoing improvement of the General Ledger Reconciliation Framework and associated processes and practices Assist with the preparation and completion of general ledger reconciliations, if required Maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Quarterly Registers (Consultancy, Losses, Special Payments) and associated processes and practices Assist with the collection and consolidation of the Quarterly Registers, if required.
About you Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the practical application of accounting standards, legislation, contemporary financial management practices and policies, with experience in contributing to the provision of comprehensive and all rounded advice to management and other stakeholders and in the development of policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms.
Demonstrated involvement and success in the contribution to continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of financial accounting, with demonstrated ability to work within and thrive in successful teams.
Demonstrated experience in the use of contemporary financial management information technology, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation and analysis of information and in formulating recommendations and reports to management.
Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills, with proven experience in coaching and effectively guiding other team members.
Demonstrated high level of autonomy and flexibility in response to change and supports the workforce to embrace new expectations through clarity of the intended outcomes.
