About the role:
The position of National Strategic Sourcing Leader is accountable for all Procurement matters. Role accountabilities include ensuring all materials and services that the organisation buys has a supplier, price, volume breaks, MoQ, pack sizes. Ensure PRA has strategic purchasing arrangement in place with key suppliers. Work with Supplier Quality to ensure PRA receives product that meets our technical needs. Manage vendor creation and performance including price over time, on time delivery and quality of deliverable.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Sourcing of goods and services across the PRA rollingstock nationwide.
* Accountable for developing, implementing, and managing strategic sourcing arrangements with major suppliers to ensure value, performance, and supply continuity.
* Responsible for establishing and maintaining agreed purchase and contract terms and conditions
* Responsible for leading DIFOT performance at a Strategic level, including setting targets and driving improvements in DIFOT, irrespective of supply source (PRS USA, external vendors or the PRS repair cycle).
* Oversee the Quality team for improving Supplier Quality and the on-going improvement of parts/services quality.
* Work closely with Commercial, Business Development and senior management team.
* Able to lead the team in the governance and process control of parts master data, including lead times, MoQs, pack sizes.
* Lead optimisation initiatives to deliver OPACC working capitals improvements, cash savings and rationalisation outcomes
* Proven ability to drive procurement strategies resulting in reduced inventory and part holdings.
* Ability to lead the team in identifying, driving and delivering consignment and vendor-managed-inventory (VMI) models in collaboration with the other supply chain functions that guarantee security of supply while moving inventory/part investment off balance sheet.
* Lead the team in undertaking TCO analysis and inventory planning related risk management.
* Drives and contributes to key planning, procurement, supply chain, and cost related OPACC improvement initiatives.
About you:
* Degree or post graduate qualification in Engineering, Law, Business, or 20 years' experience in a Procurement/purchasing/supply chain roll in an asset intensive industry.
* 10 years original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or rail, aviation, logistics, mining or supply chain industry experience.
* 10 years Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain experience in a maintenance, manufacturing or supply chain environment.
* 7 years plus exposure to rollingstock with: a Technical understanding of the equipment; knowledge of the suppliers and exposure to the Engineering standards and safety systems.
* Significant ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, D365 ……..) experience.
* Demonstrable knowledge of quality processes and systems.
* Record of driving business performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
* Critical thinking skills gained from previous (and similar) positions.
* Highly Analytical, with advanced data analytics and modelling skills.
* Process, detail & deadline driven.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
