Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Civil Engineer RPEQ role based in the Greater Brisbane Area. The Civil Engineer RPEQ will be responsible for designing and reviewing civil infrastructure associated with land development projects, including roads, drainage, stormwater networks, and siteworks. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and checking engineering drawings, technical reports, and calculations; providing RPEQ certification; and ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and local authority requirements. The role involves coordinating with project managers, surveyors, soil testers, and other engineers to resolve design issues, support planning approvals, and address construction-phase queries. The Civil Engineer RPEQ will also contribute to project planning, liaise with external stakeholders and authorities, and support mentoring of junior team members where appropriate.
Qualifications
* Strong civil engineering foundation, including Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design skills applicable to land development and infrastructure projects.
* Experience working as a Civil Engineer in a consulting or development environment, with proven capability to deliver practical, buildable design solutions.
* Competence in Planning activities, including development assessments, coordination with planners, and an understanding of local authority requirements and approval processes.
* Specialized skills in Stormwater Management, including hydrologic and hydraulic design, drainage layout, and water-sensitive urban design principles.
* Current RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain RPEQ within a defined timeframe) and familiarity with relevant Australian standards, codes, and guidelines.
* Proficiency with civil design software and CAD tools (e.g., 12d, Civil 3D, or similar), as well as MS Office for documentation and reporting.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, authorities, and clients.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
* Experience in subdivision design, residential development, or infrastructure projects in the Greater Brisbane or Queensland context is highly regarded.
