About the opportunity
The Social Media Adviser is a multi-faceted role with responsibilities spanning a range of social media and digital communications functions. The position is primarily responsible for helping produce creative content and deliver Suburban Rail Loop Authority’s digital communications strategies. This will include helping to develop and publish engaging social media content, to help raise awareness of the project, keep people informed of disruptions and the impacts of works, including trader support, and support engagement with the community through digital channels. The position will also work closely with the Digital team to deliver electronic direct mail to project subscribers and assist with day-to-day website updates such as works notifications, as well as supporting other members of the Strategic Communications and Engagement team to achieve organisational outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Social Media Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in:
1. Monitoring online feedback from across social media, the website and other online channels, and work with stakeholder communications teams to manage timely and accurate responses, providing insights and analysis to team leaders.
2. Working proactively with project teams to source new content for social media channels, including video and photography, and ensure existing content on the website is engaging and up to date.
3. Drafting, editing and publishing high quality written and visual content on SRLA’s social channels and website including news items, EDMS, video storyboards, project information and collateral, surveys, disruptions information and images.
4. Overseeing the use of Campaign Monitor, SRLA’s email marketing platform, to help promote SRLA and inform communities of important project information, as well as identifying trends and opportunities to raise engagement.

About you
5. You will have a high level interpersonal and consultative skills, and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to build positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Two to four years’ experience in communications in a social and or digital role, with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality communications, content, and risk management strategies in a high-pressure environment.
7. Demonstrated experience in managing websites, including using content management systems, analytical tools, and email marketing systems. Some basic understanding of WCAG standards and general HTML coding would be preferable.
8. Demonstrated experience in using social media channels for business purposes, including raising awareness, delivering key messages to target demographics, experience creating, optimising and monitoring campaigns in Facebook Ads Manager, and community engagement.
9. Holds a Bachelor (or higher) qualification in Communications, Media, or a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
