This part-time role is responsible for facilitating safe and supported contact between children and their parent or carer, particularly where contact is ordered or agreed upon but cannot occur independently due to safety, conflict, or communication concerns.In this role, you will apply your knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed practice to assess suitability for services, ensure the safety of all parties, and maintain a positive, respectful environment for child-parent contact. You will also gather and share the voice of the child, contribute to case planning and review, and ensure all legislative and organisational requirements are met.This is a highly rewarding role for a practitioner who is passionate about supporting the best interests of children, while navigating complex family dynamics with empathy, professionalism, and care.Additionally, you will:Conduct intake assessments and parent interviews, including safety screenings and familiarisation sessions for children.Facilitate supervised contact visits and changeovers in a safe, neutral environment that supports children's emotional wellbeing and developmental needs.Meet with children where appropriate to gain feedback and inform planning.Monitor risk, responding to issues as they arise, and escalating safety concerns in line with policy and legislative requirements.Maintain accurate case notes, assessments, and client files using internal systems.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and child protection services, where required.Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and professional development to support continuous improvement in service delivery.About youYou are a calm, confident, and child-focused practitioner with a strong understanding of child development, family conflict, and trauma-informed care. You are passionate about creating safe spaces for children and families navigating challenging transitions.Additionally, you have:Tertiary qualifications in social or behavioural sciences, with studies in child development.Experience working with children and families, including those affected by domestic and family violence, separation, or conflict.Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Family Law Act and child protection frameworks.Senior First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).Well-developed risk assessment and case management skills.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and uphold the values and ethics of RAQWe Can Offer YouAt RAQ, we believe in supporting our people both inside and outside the workplace.
