Senior Financial Accountant (12-months Contract)
A well-established property group based in Hawthorn is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 12-month contract with the potential for a permanent opportunity.
This is a hands‐on senior financial accountant role with end‐to‐end ownership of month‐end, combined with exposure to reporting, compliance and analytical work.
Property industry experience is highly preferred for this position.
What You'll Be Doing
* Managing the month‐end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Preparing monthly management reports with commentary and variance analysis
* Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and integrity
* Supporting statutory compliance requirements, including BAS and other regulatory obligations
* Delivering financial analysis to support business decisions and ad hoc projects
* Supporting system implementation
* Contributing to improvements in reporting, processes, and internal controls
What We're Looking For
* CA or CPA qualified
* A degree in accounting
* Strong experience across month‐end accounting and management reporting
* Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with non‐finance stakeholders
* High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
* Hands‐on experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms
