About The Role
This is an ongoing fulltime position based in Bendigo.The statutory planning team responds to a range of matters exercising delegated powers on behalf of the Head, Transport for Victoria under the Road Management Act 2004, Transport Integration Act 2010, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Subdivision Act 1988.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the above legislation as related to the application of the powers of Head, Transport for Victoria and a working understanding of the Victoria Planning System combined with Engineering and Road Safety principles.

Position Accountabilities
Effectively lead, manage, motivate and develop a team to achieve successful business outcomes. Ensure the team respond to planning application referrals and applications for certification within the statutory timeframes.Lead the planning and regulation of new development of land to avoid detriment to, and where possible, enhance the service, safety and amenity of the transport network in the short and long terms in accordance with relevant statutory requirements.Apply well developed specialist skills to represent the Department at senior meetings and hearings including with external stakeholders.Assist the Manager and other internal staff with appeals to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Planning Panels Victoria.
Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
Tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning and/or extensive relevant experience.
Desirable
Understanding of Engineering principles and ability to interrogate Traffic Impact Assessments.Experience relevant to the accountabilities and capabilities of the role.Experience in growth area planning.
