The Opportunity
We're seeking a Software Test Analyst who excels in Agile environments and takes genuine ownership of product quality. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Scrum Squads including Engineering Leads, Software Engineers, and SQA teams to ensure every feature is thoroughly tested, automation‑ready, and delivered to an exceptional standard.
Your responsibilities will span the full testing lifecycle: analysing requirements, planning and designing test cases, developing automation scripts, executing both manual and automated tests, and maintaining clear documentation. This role blends structured manual testing with hands‑on test automation development. You will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our automation framework and suite, craft effective test strategies, and serve as a key advocate for quality within the squad.
What You'll Be Doing
• Analysing user stories and requirements to define clear test strategies
• Designing detailed test cases and preparing test data
• Executing both manual and automated testing across sprint cycles
• Building and enhancing automation scripts within our test automation framework
• Contributing to regression automation and CI/CD integration
• Identifying defects, clearly documenting them, and working with engineers to resolve issues
• Participating in Scrum ceremonies and quality discussions
• Supporting compliance with Ocean's Quality, Security and Information standards
Deliver High-Quality Software
• Ensure traceability between requirements and test coverage
• Execute structured test plans aligned to sprint goals
• Maintain accurate defect tracking and reporting
Strengthen Automation Capability
• Extend and maintain automation frameworks
• Determine automation feasibility at feature level
• Improve automation coverage and reusability
Collaborate & Influence
• Act as a quality advocate within the squad
• Communicate risks and testing progress clearly
• Facilitate constructive quality conversations
Uphold Standards
• Adhere to regulated environment best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain documentation aligned with audit and compliance needs
What You'll Need to Have
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent
• ISTQB Foundation Certification (or equivalent)
• 3–5 years' experience in software testing or development
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in test automation scripting
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks
• Ability to work seamlessly between manual testing and automation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Australian Citizenship (eligible for Defence Security Clearance)
Technical Exposure (some or all)
• Azure DevOps, Visual Studio
• SQL Server
• REST APIs
• JavaScript / Typescript
• C#, .NET, ASP.NET
• React or Angular
• GIT, Docker
• CI/CD pipelines
• Automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Postman or Tosca
• Performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter)
Additional experience we value
